Sven Sauer and I have been making audiovisual installations since 2016. The first was called »Empty Shelters« and celebrated its premiere in 2016 at the exhibition »The Dark Rooms« in Berlin. Our second installation »KAMI« won the audience award at the Blue Night in Nuremberg. The »KAMI« installation has been around since 2017. This is about the perception of media. We tried to approach the process of how media changes our perspective and how we can no longer get to the source of information due to the overabundance of information.
Sound of the »KAMI« installation
For the audiovisual installation, I worked with sound and, above all, with the conception of the soundscapes that surround the »KAMIs«. In cold January 2018, we showed the installation in front of the Frauenkirche in Dresden. Over 10,000 visitors attended the three evenings. On May 3 & 4, 2019, we were able to present the installation at the “Blaue Nacht” art and culture festival in Nuremberg. This is a festival where over 100,000 people come to see exciting exhibitions, performances and installations in the city. The city is full of life and light installations.
Fog test of our installation »KAMI« at the Blue Night in Nuremberg
For several years now, there has been a competition in which ten art projects take part. These are selected by a jury in advance. At the end, votes are cast by the public and the winners are chosen.
Over 10,000 visitors saw “KAMI” at the Blue Night 2019 in Nuremberg.
»KAMI« not only made it into the competition, but also scooped the coveted Audience Award. That's great. We are still overwhelmed and very happy about it. It was completely unexpected for us.
Many thanks to the city of Nuremberg for their active support.
We were once again able to win over our loyal partner PMS from Dresden for the technical implementation of this incredible project. Thank you very much for being with us right from the start. That means a lot to us.
